DEVELOPMENTAL AND CONTENT EDITING

As a developmental editor, I can work with you on your material from inception to final draft, looking at every aspect of your manuscript.

In fiction, this can include:

  • Structure

  • POV and narrative voice

In nonfiction, this can include:

  • Identifying the overarching theme
  • Analyzing clear communication
  • Looking at the presentation and organization of the material

Developmental editing keeps your goals for the material in mind and enables you to assess your work in relation to your audience as well as industry standards and expectations.

COPY EDITING
$1,200

Copy editing will improve grammar, correct punctuation and spelling, and make sure the writing flows and communicates clearly while maintaining the tone and style of your original manuscript.

PROOFREADING
$800

Once your material is in its final form, I will do a thorough proofread to ensure the formatting is consistent and correct and all typos and errors are corrected.

ENGLISH LOCALIZATION
$85 an hour

If you’re writing in English but aren’t a native English speaker, I will “localize” your text. I rework grammar and syntax to ensure your writing flows easily and communicates clearly to an American reader while maintaining your material’s meaning, style, and tone.
